Defence Institute of High Altitude Research (DIHAR) is a premier research centre under DRDO located in Leh-Ladakh, working on trial, testing, and high altitude technologies. The institute is inviting applications for 22 Junior Research Fellow and 3 Research Associate positions across various engineering disciplines.

Eligibility Criteria

Junior Research Fellow (JRF) – 22 Posts

B.Tech degree in First Division (60% or equivalent) in relevant engineering discipline as per position requirements

Valid GATE score in respective engineering stream

Maximum age limit: 28 years as on walk-in interview date (24.02.2026)

Age relaxation available for SC, ST & OBC candidates as per Government of India orders

Research Associate (RA) – 3 Posts

M.Tech degree in First Division at both Graduate (B.Tech) and Post-Graduate (M.Tech) level in relevant discipline

At least 3 years of research, teaching, or design & development experience after M.Tech completion

At least one research paper published in SCI (Science Citation Index) journal

Maximum age limit: 35 years as on walk-in interview date (24.02.2026)

Age relaxation available for SC, ST & OBC candidates as per Government of India orders

Selection Process

Candidates will report by 08:45 AM on 24.02.2026 at DIHAR Base Station, Chandigarh

Initial screening based on educational qualifications and eligibility criteria

Shortlisted candidates will face interview on the same day

Selection based on interview performance and qualifications

Merit-based selection following DRDO guidelines

Selected candidates will be offered fellowship/associateship as per DRDO rules

No TA/DA provided for interview attendance or joining

Salary/Stipend

Benefits:HRA (House Rent Allowance) as per applicable DRDO rates and government norms.
